Non-Negative Pressure Enclosures Used During the COVID-19 Pandemic May Increase Health Risk to Patients and Health Care Providers


Fontana, CA, August 24, 2020- According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the use of protective barrier enclosures without negative pressure increases health risks for HCP’s and patients. In May the FDA had issued Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for protective barrier enclosures without negative pressure and is now revoking these passive enclosures. The FDA is recommending that if using a protective barrier enclosure it should incorporate negative pressure because these enclosures are effective in decreasing HCP’s exposure to airborne particles.

Fontana, CA, July 28, 2020 – PITU, the invention created by Dr. Mark Comunale, head of Anesthesiology at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, addresses many of the issues we are facing over the COVID-19 virus.  This negative pressure enclosure isolates COVID-19 patients, creates a barrier between them and medical professionals treating them, and can even allow family members to visit them.


FDA Approves Emergency Use of AR Tech’s Patient Isolation

Transportation Unit (PITU)

Fontana, CA, May 8, 2020 - AR Tech, an aerospace and medical equipment manufacturer, announces its Patient Isolation Transportation Unit (PITU) is now available and The Food and Drug Administration has given emergency approval for its use. PITU is intended to be used by health care providers for temporary isolation and transport of patients with suspected or confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19.
